Technical Information
We use digital equipment but we are able to advise anyone wanting to use a film SLR or compact camera.
Our facility includes a Nikon D80 DSLR and the very highly acclaimed Samsung GX1L DSLR.
Studios are equipped with a choice of lighting:
6 head Studio Flash with:
3 Softboxes | 3 Umbrellas | Snoot | Background light with barn doors | Gels
5 head tungsten 750 watt set with R/G/B mixed mood lighting
Standard twin head reflector / diffused flash
6KV Ring flash
Tungsten lighting rigs give a warm "filmic" quality to images and allow a massive range of ambient effects. Couple this with a background or wall lit with the RGB mood light to get stunning lighting effects.
We have traditional flash with twin head reflector / diffusers or the absolute state of the art 6KV ring flash that offers either shadow less images or the long shadow effect currently in favour with fashion photographers.
Don't forget that we are in the Algarve not Aberdeen so daylight is available most of the year and it's clear and strong for vibrant natural light work.
Studio Facilities We have an excellent studio space with the following features:
6 Head studio flash lighting with option up to 8 heads for almost any imaginable lighting effect, the light set includes 3 softboxes, 3 umbrellas a snoot and a barndoor both with a range of gels and honeycomb filters.

StudioLombos™ Offers a large studio space in our luxury villa. The studio is equipped with a 6-head professional flash system allowing us to take diffuse light portraits, white wall "fashion" style shots and a very wide range of artistic lighting shots combining our barn-door lights, snoots and various colour gels. The studio area has a TV where we show music channels or cartoons to keep the kids amused during shoots, a kitchen area from which we offer light refreshments and a separate bathroom and changing area. After your session we will group review the images on the wall mounted LCD TV to help you visualise the results.
Outside we have our pool area and two large deck areas, one with a metal and calico gazebo. The studio also features good natural light.
White Wall: We have a large white wall area in the studio. The following description is for the benefit of portrait subjects.
White Wall as the name suggests is a pure white background, often used in modern portrait photography, fashion shoots and general modeling. A diffused flash or a lamp with barndoors can be used to "wash out" the wall leaving a pure white background or a white spot effect behind the subject.
Rostrum: Here the camera is above the subjects (this means that you have to lie on the floor!) and photographs are usually taken of head and shoulders and then framed vertically to give an interesting and unusual group portrait.
Mono: Technical term for a black and white image, often mono images give excellent results for portraiture. Mono is also more flattering than colour in many cases. If you are a devote of "How to Look Good Naked" just think for a moment just how many of the Gok Miester's naked photo shoots are done in black and white.
Solarization: A digital take o a wet darkroom technique whereby a half developed print would be flashed with white light resulting in radical alteration of the tones. Here is a before and after comparison

Posterise: This technique reduces the number of colours in the image rendering it in a cartoon style colour set. Results are particularly good for younger children and teenagers and a canvas or solid wood print makes an excellent bedroom wall hanging. Before and after images below:

Warhol: Images in the Andy Warhol pop art style can be created from any shot, usually we posterise them first and then apply colour masks to give the overall effect:
Flawless with retouching: Going back to the GOK Meister for a moment and his campaign for natural beauty. This program showed just how far big magazines will go to create the images that they regard as normal. No one looks the way models do in the glossy magazines without a bit of photoshop magic. We can airbrush your image with a light "10 years younger" effect or to within an inch of it's life FHM style!
