Landscape Photography
Landscape photography is largely about framing your subject and choosing a small aperture value, after this you can just sit back and take as many shots as you like. After all, landscape subjects don't move so it really is all about composition and lighting. The rule of "thirds" is a very useful tool in composing landscape photographs but lighting and a little bit of luck with the weather are also key to that truly outstanding shot.

Algarve Images
The Algarve region derives its name from the Arabic "Al Garb" meaning " the land beyond" and in many ways, that's just what the Algarve is, a land beyond with diverse scenery and stunning Atlantic views. When the Moors named it the land beyond, they were referring to Spain but the country remains a land beyond to this day in terms of expectation.
OK, so part of the Algarve is an ex-pat golf club hell but that cannot detract from the excellent geography and the rugged people of this region. From the azure ocean views of the eastern and central Algarve with golden beaches and breathtaking cliffs through the often wild coastline of the Western Algarve with the western most point in Europe, the region never fails to exceed expectation for the photographer and artist.
Inland, small villages and farms have changed little in centuries and it is still possible to glimpse the medieval in many regions. Add to this a mixture of European and Arabic cultures from the Moorish period and you have an endless supply of character for the artist. Rugged people, hearty food, fishermen, ancient irrigation systems, windmills, wine, Moorish architecture, Castles, Neolithic monuments. the list goes on and on
The richness of the Algarve is reflected in any image of the place or people and the excellent natural light makes for truly superb images.
