Tuition Days: Newcomer or Old Hand tuition days offer something for everyone. From absolute beginner with your first digital compact to lens toting DSLR enthusiasts we offer tuition, composition tips, software tips for digital darkroom platforms (based on Adobe Photoshop), Studio Flash techniques and expert guided walking tours of the hidden photographic treasures of the Algarve region.

Content is tailored to the individual or small group (max 4 people) so don't be afraid if you don't know your "F-Stops" from a bus stop we won't baffle you with jargon and if you do know your way around a camera we will find something to improve your technique or technical ability.

Our courses comprise a careful blend of theory and practical work. Photographic theory is clearly presented in Powerpoint slideshows and backed up by detailed notes for you to take home. Each course has a practical location photography element, allowing you to practice your new skills and concludes with a hands-on review session and editing live with Photoshop on our big screen.

The Algarve offers a wealth of diverse subject material for colour and black & white photography, stunning seascapes (also by RIB), varied landscapes with vineyards and mountains, ancient villages with picture postcard churches and houses with the unique Algarvian blend somewhere between distress and decay! Ruinas, Olive Tress, Bougainvillea clad walls and abundant flora for the macro enthusiast all contribute to excellent walking tours. Sunrise and sunset can also be spectacular on the Algarve when the cloud conditions are right in September and October.
Inside we have our fully equipped studio for those wishing to learn studio flash and daylight techniques used in portraiture and modeling.Later in the day we can review results on our large LCD screen and work on editing and publishing techniques. We also offer training on web site design and advice onsetting up your own web pages.
Studio Facilities: We have a fully equipped basement studio at the villa that you can book by the hour or as part of a stay in one of our apartments We provide tuition, props, backgrounds, lighting and even models upon request. If you prefer to shoot in natural light, we offer our landscaped gardens, pool area and terraces for that perfect outdoor location.
Boat Trips: There is truly little in life to beat the thrill of 34 knots across the Atlantic Ocean! Taking a trip in our power boat is a certain hit for thrill seekers. Fully qualified RYA accredited skipper GPS, VHF, Depth finder and all the safety equipment we need.We have a 6M RIB available for trips to the almost insanely beautiful coastline of the Praia do Vau and Alvor region. Take a photographic expedition or simply come along for a glass of chilled Rosé at anchor.
Leaving our birth at the Boca do Rio resort, we take a short trip along the Rio Arade passing Ferragudo with it's original fishing port and the opulent Portimao Marina before heading West to the incredible rock formations and natural coves accessible only by boat. There is a good chance that we will see the "pirate ship" and some of the Dolphin watching boatsout of Portimao and Lagos. Some evenings we may even see bottlenose dolphins running close to shore.
A great opportunity to have a unique photograph of your time on the Algarve. For Photographers, this small area of coastline offers endless opportunities. If the Ocean is not your thing, tide permitting, we can take a more sedate inland cruise along the Rio Arade to the ancient Moorish fortress town of Silves.
Portrait & Photographic Sessions: If you want to be photographed in the studio, around the villa or on location we offer excellent facilities and service. Our fully equipped studio has a six head lighting system, natural light, white wall (popular pure white backgrounds)and rostrum (Images taken from above and combined to make an unusual group photograph) facility. We offer one hour sessions including two finished digitalimages for you to have printed independently forjust 95 Euros.

StudioLombos™ Offers a large studio space in our luxury villa. The studio is equipped with a 6-head professional flash system allowing us to take diffuse light portraits, white wall "fashion" style shots and a very wide range of artistic lighting shots combining our barn-door lights, snoots and various colour gels. The studio area has a TV where we show music channels or cartoons to keep the kids amused during shoots, a kitchen area from which we offer light refreshments and a separate bathroom and changing area. After your session we will group review the images on the wall mounted LCD TV to help you visualise the results.
Outside we have our pool area and two large deck areas, one with a metal and calico gazebo. The studio also features good natural light.
